The babies have hatched and all’s right with the world (well, in their nest)!

Good morning all! For today’s Boost I have a little slice of life – life beginning right next to my porch, as a matter of fact.

The yigüírro is Costa Rica’s national bird, and it seemed like a powerfully good omen to have a mother yigüírro make her next in the banana plant just a few feet from outdoor writing perch a few weeks ago. Today, my heroic decision to get up early and write was rewarded by the sight of tiny beaks gaping open as Mamá Yigüírro flew home with some worms. Here you go:
