We will meet again

Borrowed from the Queen, and from these two Green hummingbirds captured by Robin Runck in Monteverde. (Don’t forget – you can take a free yoga class live from Monteverde’s Quaker Meeting Room and led by CORCLIMA head Katy Van Dusen, at 4:15 today and every Monday. Click here to learn more about the class and CORCLIMA.)

It’s been a particularly manic Monday at our house, where I’m sharing a spare-room-turned-office with a glum seven-year-old for whom the novelty of seeing her classmates on Zoom has fully worn off. The birdsong outside the window is a constant reminder that more awaits us. About an hour ago, a few drops of rain made me look up and breathe deep. Even that little tease from the heavens brought forth from the dry earth that unmistakable smell of parched land sighing in relief.

I send you a little bit of that sense of relief and release, bottled up with a healthy dose of the yigüírros’ song. If you want to hear them for yourself, especially the babies that are growing every louder next to my porch, join me again on Wednesday morning when I’ll do my Daily Boost via Facebook Live again at 8 am CR/10 am EST. There’s even more ingenuity and hard work to tell you about this week, and I can’t wait.
